The progressive re-working of a single form becomes the subject of this recent painting series. It’s inversion, repetition and re-positioning suggests a multitude of pictorial combinations and an intrigue with the visual centre of an image. A wide stretcher emphasizes the flat surface on which a painting is made, however it also adds a three dimensional quality by actively including the side as part of the front of the painting.
